There's no contradiction: white yet conductive plastic

The new Original Material "S" plus+® white ESD

Murtfeldt Kunststoffe offers an ultra high molecular plastic developed in-house with its Original Material ״S״ plus+® white ESD

The new member of the "S" plus+® family

Murtfeldt Kunststoffe offers an ultra high molecular plastic developed in-house with its Original Material "S" plus+® white ESD. This refutes the longstanding incompatibility of white materials in connection with conductivity and is ideally suited for use in ESD-sensitive working environments with strict hygiene standards.

Possible uses

The new Original Material "S" plus+® white ESD family member is therefore the ideal material for clean room technology and perfect for use in laboratory environments. For example, if it is used as a work surface, ESD-sensitive products (ESDs) can be processed without any problems. The modified UHMW-PE also reliably meets the electrical engineering requirements, which require a slow discharge speed for sensitive electronic components. It is approved for ESD protection zones in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and complies with the standards 61340-5-1 and DIN EN 61340-5-1.
Medical engineering in turn benefits from the fact that no black abrasion occurs as with standard materials and static charging is avoided at the same time when using this plastic. This argument is also a big plus for the food industry, which is also subject to strict hygiene requirements. Original Material "S" plus+® white ESD can be used in the food processing industry as it is certified as food-compliant in accordance with the European Union (EU) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Technical features

Equipped with a molecular weight of 5x 106 g/mol and a density of ≤ 0.94 kg/dm³, it is characterised by the technical properties of the tried-and-tested "S" plus+® family. The very good wear and abrasion resistance and excellent chemical resistance are obvious. In addition, Murtfeldt has succeeded in creating a new product with Original Material "S"plus+® white ESD: the white plastic is the first material produced by Murtfeldt to have a surface resistance that fluctuates between a lower limit of 106 Ω and an upper limit of 109 Ω. Following intensive research, Murtfeldt has found an answer to the frequent demands from customers and is pleased to be able to offer a further solution entirely for the benefit of the customer.

About Murtfeldt Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG

During the 1950s, Murtfeldt was already developing its Original Material “S”, a plastic whose slide properties and wear resistance properties are still unbeaten today. Since then, the Dortmund-based company has been shaped by imaginative developments, including the construction of customer components and the production of the requisite CAD data. Today, Murtfeldt is one of the leading producers of guide systems and slide-enabling, wear-resistant plastics worldwide. Murtfeldt products are used wherever products are to be packaged, filled and transported. Murtfeldt has a broad production, sales, and service network with almost 400 employees in Dortmund and subsidiaries in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, field employees who provide customers with on-site consultation and further partners in almost every European country. Comprehensive and competent consultation, above all, is at the forefront of every single business relationship. With its in-house Application Technology department, Murtfeldt therefore has a highly qualified consulting team, primarily made up of machine construction engineers.
